The Help Charitable Trust is an NGO that works for the children in the slums of Delhi by providing them with quality education to help them become self-reliant and become an asset to the country. In Delhi itself, the underpriviledged don’t have access to basic necessities. As per the records, more than one-third of the children in the slums of Delhi are malnourished. The NGO also works to protect the environment in numerous ways. We plant trees every year during Monsoon and spread awareness among the masses on topics such as “Say No To Single-Use Plastic” and promote to use Jute or Cloth Bags instead. The NGO also works on Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse by spreading awareness, especially in Play Schools. We also organize Health Camps & Blood Donation Camps throughout the year and provide Warm Clothes & Blankets to the needy during the Winter Season. The NGO looks forward to taking up projects in many more domains.

The NGO was founded by Mr Jinender Jain in the year 2014. Before this, he worked in the entertainment industry and earned quite a name for himself. He has done more than 70 Theatre Plays and has done two good movies with known celebrities. He has also worked as the Vice President at reputed BPOs in the field of Operations. It was during these times when he had an encounter that completely changed his mindset. He was driving along with his elder daughter and family when he saw a little girl begging at the traffic light. It was this incident that put him in deep thoughts and led to him founding this NGO for the poor and needy children of the slums.

As the phrase goes – “Charity begins at home”; the first step he took was to leave his job. Thereafter, he started looking after the children of a small slum in Nangloi, near the railway track. He sought permission from their parents and told them that he will be educating the children free of cost and will also provide them with mid-day meals (all from his pocket). He found a space in these slums and constructed a temporary hut, starting a school named “Hamari Pathshala“. With the grace of God, now the NGO is working in many more domains like Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse, Saving the Girl Child, Swachh Bharat Mission (स्वच्छ भारत अभियान) and is working towards building a healthy and safe environment for the society.
